Elmer T. Lee ‘100 Year Tribute’ Bourbon is a limited edition bourbon crafted in honor of Master Distiller Elmer T. Lee at the renowned Buffalo Trace Distillery. This rich and complex bourbon commemorates the 100th anniversary of Elmer T. Lee. Made from Mash Bill #2, like other iconic spirits such as Blanton’s, William Larue, and Pappy Van Winkle, it features a sour mash of corn, malted barley, and extra rye. The bourbon is soft and mellow with dominant vanilla aromas. On the palate, you’ll savor rich notes of caramel mingled with honey and slight hints of butter, followed by a long, warm, and lingering finish.

History

Elmer T. Lee ‘100 Year Tribute’ Bourbon is a special edition created to honor what would have been Elmer T. Lee’s 100th birthday. Produced at Buffalo Trace Distillery, which was founded in 1775, the distillery has gone through several name changes, including the George T. Stagg Distillery and the Old Fashioned Copper Distillery. It is currently known as Buffalo Trace Distillery and has earned the title of the most award-winning distillery in America, including seven “Distillery of the Year” recognitions. Still family-owned and located in Franklin County, Kentucky, the distillery spans over 130 acres and remains fully operational.

This historic site has been home to some of the world’s most renowned Master Distillers, such as Albert B. Blanton, E.H. Taylor, Elmer T. Lee, George T. Stagg, and Orville Schupp. This bourbon is made with Mash Bill #1, consisting of the finest corn, rye, and malted barley, aged in new oak barrels until it reaches peak maturity. It is consistently rated among the best bourbons in the world for its rich taste and exceptional value. Proceeds from this limited edition bottling benefit the Frankfort VFW Post 4075, where Lee was a member until his passing in 2013.
